Study Overview: CEREC Zirconia Full Contour Zirconia: Clinically Safe, Biocompatible and No Chipping

چکیده
Bensheim/Salzburg, 25 February 2016. Zirconium dioxide has been successfully used in dentistry for about 20 years. The majority are restorations with zirconia frameworks and ceramic veneers. For the past six years, fully anatomical zirconium dioxide (full contour zirconia) has been increasingly used for restorations (crowns and bridges) [1] [2] [3]. The results from in vitro tests show that with the prerequisite of a professional polish, fully anatomically shaped, non-veneered zirconia crowns and bridges are suitable for dentures. In this case, the high-performance material replaces the expensive metal casting process. In scientific literature, the material is mainly studied for its physical properties (hardness, bending and fracture strength, as well as visual appearance). As a result, monolithic zirconia significantly improved the fracture toughness of endontically treated premolars to the level of healthy teeth [4].

متن کاملMonolithic zirconia: A review of the literature
Veneer cracking or chipping is the major complication of the zirconia based restorations. Monolithic zirconia has been introduced to overcome this problem, as well as to use in patients with limited interocclusal space. Many research articles on monolithic zirconia crowns have been published in the last years. The aim of this review article was to present data about the wear, surface roughness,...

متن کاملThe Effect of Different Finishing Lines on the Marginal Fitness of Full Contour Zirconia and Glass Ceramic CAD/CAM Crowns (An in-vitro study)
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of two gingival finishing lines (90° shoulder and deep chamfer) on the marginal fitness of two types of full anatomic all-ceramic crowns; zirconia crowns (Zikonzhan) and glass ceramic crowns (IPS e-max CAD) milled with CAD/CAM system. Materials and Methods: Two dentoform teeth of left maxillary first molar were prepared with chamfer fini...

OBJECTIVES The aim of the present pilot study was to test whether or not posterior zirconia-ceramic fixed dental prostheses (FDPs) with pressed veneering ceramic exhibit less chipping than FDPs with layered veneering ceramics. METHODS Forty patients (13 female, 27 male; mean age 54 years (range 26.1-80.7 years) in need of one maxillary or mandibular three-unit FDP in the second premolar or mo...
